Is it April Fools again so soon? Because other than pulling a practical joke on us, I cant for the life of me understand what the drafters of Syria’s new Civil Status Law were thinking!!!! A commentator on Syria News summed it up so well:

I'd like to piss down the throats of those who'd penned the draft and use it for toilet paper....hmmm.. I'm wondering what would be my punishment for this sacrilege?
DJ, a3sabak! :) There is no punishment for that particular sin in the draft civil status law - but if you were to do that while simultaneously getting married or divorced, they might accomodate you!
The law is a disgrace but I'm heartened by the enormous condemnation of it online. There is yet hope for the country.
