US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, another poor excuse for a human being, charged that Hamas “"has used Gaza as a launching pad" for firing rockets into the Jewish state and that, as a result, the Palestinians in Gaza have had "a very bad daily life." By the same token, the Jewish state has used Israel as a launching pad for firing rockets into Gaza for a very long time, but the US seems to have forgiven Israel that transgression. In fact, it never registers on the US’ radar that Israel could possibly do any wrong. Shame on them for not caring to look beyond their own interests to see that the Palestinians in Gaza have had a “very bad daily life” as a direct result of Israel strangling their economy, development, livelihood, dreams and even life.
It’s a shame that the US positions itself as a great defender of human rights in the world, making a mockery of that term. Not simply because we are at the receiving end of that hypocrisy, however detrimental that hypocrisy is to our lives, but because the loss of faith in mankind to act morally, justly and ethically is far greater a loss than the loss of life.
